The UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson defended his title after dominating Nate Diaz at the KeyArena in Seattle last Saturday.
After landing 133 key strikes in the fight, Henderson triumphed comfortably in a five-round bout 50-43, 50-45 and 50-45. Henderson’s takedown early in the fight set the tone, and Diaz failed to recover.
Although Diaz came back briefly in the third round with a leg lock and a heel hook submission, Henderson answered back later in the round by dropping him.
Henderson now holds a 17-2 record since joining the UFC. His previous two wins were close decisions, but the convincing victory over Diaz will now serve as his signature performance.
