America voted and it chose Dia Frampton.
Four artists found themselves out in the cold on The Voice last night but the half-Dutch, half-Korean singer was not one of them.
Wanting to see their favorite artists advance to the semifinals, America chose to save Frampton and Beverly McClellan, a rocker on Team Christina, from elimination.
Frampton winning the popular vote was not unexpected given her rising popularity. Over the past week, Dia Frampton’s interpretation of Kanye West’s “Heartless” rose through the ranks to break into the top ten songs downloaded on iTunes.
Frampton’s coach, country singer Blake Shelton, admitted he wasn’t very surprised by the result.
“When I saw her performance and what happened last week on iTunes, I kind of had an idea, but you never know,” Shelton said.
Apart from the two women saved by viewers, the coaches had the opportunity to spare another member of their team. Christina Aguilera selected former American Idol contestant Frenchie Davis, while Blake Shelton chose high school student Xenia Martinez.
