If you’re in the LA area, here’s your chance to help out a good cause in style. The Divided Families Film is holding a benefit this Thursday at the Blue Velvet lounge, and is inviting you to come and support this project.

The Divided Families Film is a project that documents the stories of the first generation Korean Americans who have been forced to be separated from their families when the 38th parallel was drawn. As we are currently living in a crucial time in history where the people who carry memories of their dislocated family members and of the war are slowly passing, bringing awareness to this cause is vital. Korea remains to be the only divided nation in the world, and it is important for KAs, with transnational backgrounds and educations, to bring proper awareness for a cause like this.
And if supporting a good cause isn’t incentive enough, what about the open soju bar or live and silent auctions? Hors d’oeuvres anyone?
