It’s been a while since we’ve hosted KoreAm LIVE but we’re bringing the show back with a bang! Hip-hop sensation Far East Movement will be here in our studio at 7 p.m. PST on Wednesday, March 31 for a live chat and performance. The show will be hosted by the very funny Shane Yoon.

FM has been experiencing explosive, much-deserved success, recently touring with LMFAO and signing with Cherrytree/Interscope Records (the label that represents Sting). In April, they’ll tour with Lady Gaga in Japan. And still, they’re the most gracious, down-to-earth guys around.

This past September at the MTV Video Music Awards after-party, where FM performed, Pharrell made a beeline towards them and uttered what amounts to music industry currency: “We should do a track together.” One night they were partying at a club; suddenly, it dawned on them that they were kicking it with will.i.am and apl.de.ap—like just kicking it, like regler! A week prior to that, Nick Cannon (host of America’s Got Talent, but really of Mariah-Carey-baby-daddy-fame) specifically drove out to Cerritos—a suburb southeast of Los Angeles whose biggest claim to fame is a sprawling auto mall—to introduce FM to a crowd of mostly pubescent Asian girls at the annual International Super Agents concert (a talent showcase produced by FM and Wong Fu Productions). Earlier, this past spring, members of the hip-hop crew found themselves hanging out with Lady Gaga in her dressing room after opening for her on the Japanese leg of her “Monster Ball World Tour.” She suggested they drive a knife through the costume head of their de facto mascot, DJ Brass Monkey. Far East Movement Shows LA Some Love

Photos by Michael Kovac/WireImage Despite a late start, Far East Movement sent their diehard fans home happy following an impromptu performance last night at an event in downtown Los Angeles. The electro pop group threw a party called “Dirty Bass Museum” at Hunter Studios to hype up their forthcoming album. Guests were encouraged to bring gifts for the Toys for Tots program which saw a $5,000 donation from the band in giant check format. Legendary hip hop veteran DJ Quik was on hand to do a DJ set before giving way to FM’s DJ Virman. Kev Nish told iamKoreAm.com the band wasn’t scheduled to perform but being back in their hometown compelled them to get on stage. FM whipped the crowd into a frenzy with their chart-topping hit “Like a G6,” followed by “Rocketeer.” They then played a track off their new album “Dirty Bass,” set for release early next year. The group, in town on their off day between tour dates, will be playing at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada, tonight. The cognac was flowing like water at the event, which was sponsored by Remy Martin. Delicious tacos were also flowing like water with catering by #1 Taco Shop.
