In true holiday spirit, neighbors of a St. Paul, Minn., youth pastor have come to his aid after he and his family were robbed of presents on Christmas.
Sung Woo Kang’s home was burglarized for the fourth time in two years, but this time, gifts under the Christmas tree for his three children were stolen as well. The thieves also destroyed the front door, leaving Kang’s family with no security, reported CBS Minnesota.
After hearing the news, neighbors decided to help Kang’s family. They formed a group and went door to door and collected over $700 to fix the family’s front door.
“I talked to a couple of neighbors and I said we need to do something for him,” neighbor Lloyd Sumner told CBS Minnesota. “It’s the Christmas season, so I just jumped into action.”
The neighbors also donated gifts for Kang’s children. In addition, the police officer who took the burglary report, returned hours later to help Kang and his family.
“It’s hard for me to explain and hard for me to express my appreciation,” said Kang.
“We have really great generous neighbors it was just amazing to go around and see how generous everybody was in this situation,” said neighbor Ann Sumner.
