I liked the movie Taegukgi! It can be a real tear jerker but I am drawn to dramatic films that portray history in a different light. I also like the family unit theme in the movie as it follows the relationship of the two brothers after the war. The writer did a good job of integrating both the story/history and relationships. I also loved the OST! Looking forward to see some amazing films at the festival.

Favorite movie so far has been Silmido (실미도) as it still pertains to present day North and South Korea tensions.

it was funny, heartwarming, and heart-breaking, all at the same time. it showed what humanity means in the midst of the war. it’s not just one of my favorite “asian”‘ movies, but one of my favorite movies.

I love this movie and it brought me to tears. This movie was creative and enlightening. It reveals one of the number one subjects in korean culture: cosmetic surgery.

I know there are ton’s of good asian films out there, but only there are just a handful of the great ones that stick in your mind forever. OLD BOY (올드보이) is one of those movies. Put this one on your TO DO LIST if you haven’t seen it yet. I think Choi Min Shik is one of the best actors in Korea too!
