So I walk into Best Buy last week to use up a holiday gift card and what do I see when the sliding glass doors open? Lo and behold—a giant kimchi fridge!

This kimchi fridge was being showcased at the entrance of the electronics superstore. I live in Torrance, Calif., where there’s a good Asian population, but still, I had to do a double-take.

This isn’t the kimchi fridge umma keeps in the garage. It’s the LG-Livart 300 with Swarovski Crystals. Crystals! On your kimchi fridge! How fancy. The company calls it the “best of the best.”

Here are some of the features:

— The refrigerator bin is made of natural jade, which helps kimchi last longer.

—Deodorizer is placed inside of refrigerator, which helps remove the stink.

—You can set a different temperature for each drawer, depending on whether you’re storing or maturing your kimchi.

—A positive, forced-air circulation system allows a stream of cold air to flow around drawers, so kimchi can be kept fresh for an extended period of time.

Want one? It’s on sale for $2,429.99 (retail price: $2,963.24) at Best Buy. It’s for serious kimchi eaters/storers.

Do you own a kimchi refrigerator? If so, what kind?
