Minority kids spend most of their waking hours plugged in
USA Today
Among 8- to 18-year-olds, Asian Americans logged the most media use (13 hours, 13 minutes a day), followed by Hispanics (13 hours), blacks (12 hours, 59 minutes), and whites (8 hours, 36 minutes.)
Is it just me or does it seem like the huge discrepancy between whites and minorities is indicative of a flawed survey?

No, it’s a flawed survey. “Plugged in” for the researchers means listening to music, a TV on in the background, on the Internet etc. It doesn’t mean playing video games 13 hours straight. It’s dubious.
So AsAm kids spend 13 plus hours on average per day??? So if they come home from school at 3 pm, they’re up until 4 am plugged in??? Or, let’s say they spend 5 hours a day on school days. How many school days are there normally in a year? 180? So does that mean they spend about 20 hours a day plugged in on weekends and vacation days??? Unless my math is way off, I’m calling B.S. on the study. Perhaps they meant 13 hours per week? Sounds more reasonable.
Not sure that I believe that survey is anything other than fluff. The article states that excess media time is detrimental to sleep and therefore academic performance, when really we all know that Asians outperform everyone on that part
